New Life Academy is pleased to announce the selection of our next Head of School, Karl Steinkamp. Karl is currently the Head of School at Dalat International School (K-12) in Malaysia where he has served as the Head of School for the last 16 years and in some capacity there for over 20 years.
Under Karl’s leadership, Dalat International has seen God do many great things, which include increased enrollment from 285 to 700 students, a multi-million-dollar campus renovation project that incurred no debt, and successfully accomplishing Exemplary Accreditation status from ACSI, which made them one of only 15 schools in the world to achieve this status. Karl also led Dalat’s Biblical Worldview Integration focus, investing significant time and resources to ensure that biblical worldview is central and measurable across their curriculum. Karl’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History/Secondary Education from Crown College and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Capella University.
Karl spent two full days on campus in late November, touring the school, meeting with all administration, faculty and staff, the Governing Council, the New Life Church Elder Board, and students and parents. Through this process it was confirmed for Karl and his wife, Jacki, as well as for our community, that God is calling him to be the next leader for NLA. Karl will officially begin his role of Head of School on July 1, 2022. Beginning later this month, he will work with the administration to plan for the 2022-2023 school year, including the selection of the new Upper School and Middle School Principal.
Karl and Jacki have three grown children, Josiah, Karissa, and Mikaela. His oldest two children both graduated from Crown College and currently live in the Twin Cities. His youngest daughter is a student at Grand Canyon University.
We are honored to have Karl as a part of our team and he is excited to be here, “We are eager and excited to be a part of the close-knit community of New Life Academy. We have sensed God’s direction and leading and feel that New Life is where He is directing us.”
We are thankful for God’s faithfulness in answering our prayer in bringing Karl and Jacki to New Life Academy. We ask that you join us in praying for them as they begin planning for their transition, including the purchase of a home in our community.
