Variable Tuition

New Life Academy raises funds throughout the year to generously offer financial assistance for students in grades K-12. Financial assistance is given through Variable Tuition awards based on each family’s circumstances. The Variable Tuition awards are granted on results from an independent financial aid organization, FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition), and NLA’s finance requirements based on tax returns and the number of children attending NLA. There is a $48 nonrefundable application fee. The purpose of Variable Tuition is to allow students access to a quality Christian education who otherwise may not be able to afford it.

The maximum amount of Variable Tuition assistance a family can receive is 50%. Every family is required to invest financially in their child’s education. Our commitment to providing Variable Tuition means that we share in that investment. To qualify for Variable Tuition, you must have at least one student enrolled at NLA and have a household income of about $125,000 or less. For every additional student you have enrolled at NLA, the threshold increases by about $25,000. Additional business income or high out-of-pocket medical expenses will be considered through the Variable Tuition application process.

Thank you to the New Life donors. Without their generosity we wouldn’t have been able to send our son to New Life over the years. The financial assistance has been so critical and important to our family. New Life has really changed his life. I don’t have to worry about his future anymore. He’s thriving now and really happy. I know he’s going to do great things for other people in the world because he has such a great foundation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes — families can make their tuition payments monthly, bi-annually, or annually.

How does NLA determine if a family is eligible for reduced tuition?

NLA partners with FAST, a third-party financial processor for private schools nationwide. FAST examines a family’s overall financial situation, then our team reviews each application and drafts an assistance offer. Our review is conducted blindly, meaning household information remains confidential and anonymous as we draft offers.

Is there a cap on available funds?

No — we have a generous budget for tuition assistance. All families wishing for financial assistance should apply.

Is Variable Tuition available for students in all grades?

No. Variable Tuition applications are available for students in grades Kindergarten-12th. Variable Tuition is not available for Early Education students in Preschool Prep, Preschool, or Pre-K.

Could applying for Variable Tuition diminish the chances of my child being accepted to NLA?

No. Your application for Variable Tuition will be reviewed separately. Submitting an application for assistance has no bearing on your child’s admissibility.

Should we apply for admission to New Life first, or start with the Variable Tuition application?

The first step in the admission process is to create an admissions account in our Veracross Admissions portal. You can access the online application when you log on to your account. Families can apply for Variable Tuition at the same time, even if all admissions application requirements are not yet complete. This helps ensure that your Variable Tuition award gets processed before an offer of acceptance is given.

Do we need to apply for Variable Tuition every year?

Yes. A new application must be submitted every year. Since financial pictures can change from year to year, this ensures that NLA is able to provide funds based on need.
