Honoring Sharon Kolb: A Legacy of Dedication and Joy

Dear New Life Academy Community,

After 26 years of unwavering dedication to New Life Academy, Sharon Kolb, my beloved Lower School Administrative Assistant, has stepped into retirement.

Sharon began her journey at New Life Academy in 1998, initially starting part-time but quickly transitioning to a full-time role the following year. Over the years, she became an integral part of the school’s fabric, serving under the guidance of five different principals. Sharon’s time at NLA was characterized not only by her organizational skills and efficiency but also by her infectious laugh, big smile, and unwavering faithfulness.

Reflecting on her time at New Life Academy, Sharon recently shared with me, “Every day was unique. You never knew what God had in store for you. And I liked that.” This quote fully encapsulates Sharon’s positive outlook and readiness to embrace each day’s challenges and joys with grace and enthusiasm. This mindset is part of what led to Sharon receiving the Patti Wiens Leadership Award in May of 2023.

Sharon’s impact extended far beyond the administrative tasks she managed so efficiently. She created a welcoming atmosphere in the office, where students felt safe to seek assistance, parents found reassurance, and colleagues discovered a true friend. Her warm demeanor and willingness to go above and beyond her duties left a lasting impression on everyone she interacted with.

On behalf of New Life Academy, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sharon Kolb for her years of service, her infectious laughter, her bright smile, and her unwavering commitment to our school.

Sharon, you truly are the best assistant a principal could ask for!

With gratitude,

Dan Palkki
