It is bittersweet to announce that Wendy Dodds, best known in her role at the front desk as Momma Dodds, will be moving on to the next exciting chapter in her life!
Wendy Dodds will be stepping away from her daily role at the front desk on May 21, 2025. With her husband Roger’s recent retirement, Wendy says, “I will be joining him to figure out our retirement together.” Their plans include travel, more time with family, and “day-to-day freedom” to serve others “as the Lord provides opportunities.”
Over the past 18 years, Wendy has served in a variety of roles at New Life, but she is most known for the warmth, care, and spiritual guidance she brings to her work at the front desk. “What an adventure and blessing this job has been,” she says. “I truly love the students and families at New Life Academy.” Wendy especially cherishes “prayer and devotions with my TAs (teacher assistants)” and the joy of “stepping into students’ lives to point them to grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus.”
Her gratitude extends to her own family, as both Lydia (Class of 2013) and Grant (Class of 2017) have graduated from NLA. “We still talk about the impact that God has on their lives today because of their time at New Life,” she shares. “I am eternally grateful.”
Although her daily presence at the front desk will change, Wendy will continue to run the school store and remain connected to the New Life community. “There will still be a Momma Dodds sighting from time to time. There is no way I will ever be able to walk away completely—this ministry is part of who I am. I will have time for coffee or lunch, so track me down!” As she steps into this next season, we’re thankful for the lasting impact she’s had at New Life and look forward to seeing her around campus in the months ahead.

We are excited for Wendy Dodds to remain a valued part of the New Life community. Join us in praying for her as she enters this new phase of life!
