Admissions Standards
Enrollment is open to students and families who meet academic and admissions requirements and who affirm and support NLA’s Statement of Faith and Social Positions. We encourage you to review our Admission Standards before applying to ensure NLA is the right fit for your family.
Spiritual Commitment
- At least one parent or guardian must be a professing believer in Jesus Christ and affirm agreement with New Life Academy’s Statement of Faith
- Both the student and at least one parent must be actively involved in a Christ-centered church community and committed to growing their relationship with Christ.
- At least one parent must agree to respectfully support New Life Academy’s position and teaching on all social positions.
Academic Performance
- Students transferring from another school are required to provide academic records. Records should reflect grade-level performance across all subjects, consistent effort and stability in both academic achievement and behavior, and minimal absences.
- If a student has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), it must be reviewed before acceptance to ensure the school can provide appropriate support and resources to meet the student’s needs.
- To supplement missing or insufficient academic records, student applicants may be required to take an entrance assessment.
Behavior Expectations
- Students and parents must be in good standing with their current school and demonstrate conduct that reflects respect, integrity, and responsibility. Behavior that is disruptive to a school or community environment may disqualify applicants.
- Both students and parents are expected to uphold standards of behavior—on and off campus—that are consistent with New Life Academy’s Christian values.
Financial Responsibility
- For students transferring from another private school, a letter on official school letterhead may be required to confirm that all financial commitments have been fulfilled.
- Financial accounts with New Life Academy must be in good standing. Families who previously withdrew from NLA without completing their tuition contract must settle any outstanding balances before a new admissions application will be considered.
Parent Partnership
A strong partnership between the school and families is essential to the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of each student. Parents and guardians must commit to working collaboratively with teachers and administration to cultivate an environment where students thrive through the strength of a united school-family relationship.
- Shared Mission: Parents affirm their support of New Life Academy’s mission to educate students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically through a biblical worldview.
- Active Communication: Families commit to regular, respectful, and transparent dialogue with teachers, administrators, and staff, fostering trust and understanding.
- Supportive Environment: Parents model and encourage a positive attitude toward the school’s values, policies, and community standards both at home and in the broader community.
- Involvement in School Life: Families engage in school events, volunteer opportunities, and spiritual activities, reinforcing and contributing to the sense of community that defines New Life Academy.
- Conflict Resolution: In the spirit of Christian unity, parents commit to resolving concerns or misunderstandings in alignment with biblical principles and the school’s established communication guidelines.
- Honest Disclosure: Parents are expected to fully and accurately disclose any known learning differences, developmental delays, behavioral/social/emotional needs, health concerns, or special needs their student may have, ensuring the school can provide appropriate support and foster a successful learning environment.
Steps to Apply
1. Tour the Campus
There’s no better way to experience if New Life Academy is right for your family than to visit our campus in person. Experience for yourself the excitement and passion our teachers and staff have for Christian education. You’ll discover the difference a faith-filled education can make in the lives of students. During your visit, you will explore New Life Academy by walking through the halls, visiting classrooms, meeting people in our community, and discovering what makes our school special.
2. Create your Admissions Account & Complete an Admissions Application
After creating an account, click the Apply Now button to complete an application for each child applying. A helpful checklist is available to keep track of where you are on the admissions application. Once all items are complete on the checklist, your application will be submitted to the NLA Admissions Team.
Required for each application:
- School records or report cards and standardized testing (grades 1-12)
- Updated IEP or 504 plan (if applicable)
- Birth certificate (Preschool Prep – Kindergarten)
- Early Childhood Screening (Kindergarten)
- Teacher referral contact name and email address
- Photo of your child
- A non-refundable application fee of $150 for each application
3. Complete Variable Tuition Application (If Applicable)
Variable Tuition is a need-based tuition assistance program for grades K-12 that helps with the accessibility of a Christian education. 4. Schedule a 6-12th Grade Shadow Day (Optional)
Some students find spending either half or a full day shadowing a current NLA student of the same grade. These experiences give the student an opportunity to interact with the NLA community, meet peers, attend class, and engage with faculty and staff. Shadow days are scheduled through the Admissions Office and are subject to NLA student availability and the school’s schedule.
5. Arrange Your Family Interview
Once your admissions application is complete and all necessary documents have been reviewed, an admissions interview is scheduled with the division Principal. At least one parent and the student are required to attend the interview. A student assessment may be included as necessary.
6. Receive Admissions Decision
The NLA Admissions Committee reviews applications, credentials, and interview notes in alignment with our Admissions Standards and available grade-level space. Families will be notified of the decision and, if accepted, receive the next steps for enrollment.
- Acceptance: The Admissions committee’s acceptance email is sent and next steps are provided.
- Wait Pool Policy: Due to high demand and limited space, accepted students may be placed in an unranked wait pool if their grade level is full. Families will be contacted if a spot becomes available, along with any additional steps needed (see complete policy for more information).
- Denial: While every application is carefully reviewed, not all students are offered admission. Decisions may be based on academic readiness, alignment with standards, available space, or the school’s ability to provide needed support (see complete policy for more information).
7. Finalize Enrollment
Enrollment contracts must be signed and an enrollment deposit made within 7 days of receiving the acceptance email. All enrollment steps on the contract must be completed before your student is officially enrolled and their seat in class is reserved. Enrollment deposits are applied toward your tuition.
