As a Preschool through Grade 12 school in Woodbury, MN, one of the things that makes New Life Academy stand out is our partnership with New Life Church. Beyond just shared spaces, this partnership enhances the integration of New Life Academy’s Biblical worldview and creates additional avenues for families and students to discover new life in Christ.
In 1977, five couples, led by Pastor Dick and Patti Wiens, had the vision to see Woodbury, MN, and the surrounding areas, experience new life in Christ. Their vision was to start a ministry that taught the word of God in multiple ways. Through prayerful consideration and God’s faithfulness, New Life Church and Academy began through a pilot program with just ten students and two teachers. In 1979, New Life purchased 22 acres of land to further the mission of the Church and Academy.
Since then, both New Life Church and New Life Academy have experienced radical growth and positive change as they seek to educate students and families with a Biblical worldview. Today, the ministry still deeply desires to help people develop authentic relationships with God. Through intentional teaching and Christ-like care for people, we are able to accomplish the same goals set forth nearly 50 years ago.
Across all the New Life Ministry environments, whether it’s in the classroom, during chapels, on Sunday mornings, or on Wednesday nights, we teach the word of God and deeply value those who actively engage with our ministry. We truly believe that our dual role as a church and a school uniquely empowers us to carry out this mission daily within the New Life Community.
As a ministry of New Life Church, New Life Academy stands on the Word of God as a covenantal school. This means that part of New Life Academy’s admission process requires families to endorse and uphold New Life Academy’s Statement of Faith in their homes. Missional alignment is key to fostering a Christ-centered environment where families can raise their children to be faith-filled and future-ready leaders. The support of New Life Church provides a foundation to care deeply for both families and the community.
