National Honor Society Application

National Honor Society recognizes Junior and Senior students who demonstrate outstanding ability in four areas: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students who may qualify in these areas are invited to apply by filling out the attached questionnaire.   Deadline is Monday, Aug 28.

Community Group Mentors offers NLA seniors a unique and purposeful opportunity to apply the training (mentorship, service, leadership) they received during their junior year at NLA. Seniors who desire to be community group mentors have a (1) growing relationship with Jesus Christ, (2) set an example for younger students in a personal relationship with Christ. Elementary Community groups occur during elementary chapel once a month, and are designed with a small group of 10-12 students and two high school leaders. Opportunities will be available for high school students to share in a large group chapel as well as with their assigned small groups.

Junior and Senior students: are you interested in helping out with Just Between Friends? The Wednesday shift would help bagging items at checkout and the Saturday shifts are sorting unsold items for their charity partner New Life Family services. Contact Sue Endle by email for more information.

  • Wednesday, Sept 20th, 5:30-9:30pm
  • Saturday, Sept 23, 1-5pm
  • Saturday, Sept 23, 5-9pm

Students in 11th and 12th grade have the opportunity to serve as a volunteer for Woodbury’s Advisory Boards and Commissions.

Planning Commission:
The Planning Commission is responsible for all questions relating to planning, zoning and sign regulations. It reviews all applications for development and recommends approval or denial based on conformance with the comprehensive plan and zoning regulations.

Parks and Natural Resources Commission:
The Parks and Natural Resources Commission has three main functional areas: Parks, Natural Resources and Recreation. The responsibilities of the Commission are to advise the city council and other advisory commissions regarding matters relevant to park, natural resources, and recreation function. The Commission monitors the implementation of the comprehensive plan and park classification system, reviews recreation programming as needed, reviews development proposals relating to park dedication, park and trail issues, and pedestrian and bicycling access. The commission also encourages maximum waste reduction, reuse, and recycling from Woodbury residents, businesses, and city operations.

Students must be Woodbury residents and commit to serving for 1 year. Students must fill out the attached application by Tuesday, October 17th at 4:30 pm.
