The bus driver will transport students to and from school/activities, following a planned route according to a definite time schedule. Regulate heating equipment and ventilation of bus for comfort of passengers. Drive bus carefully and in compliance with traffic regulations. Assume responsibility for the safety of school children in loading, unloading, and transporting them to and from school. Instruct children in safety precautions and practices. Signal children when to cross street or highway and assures that children are safely across upon departure from bus. Maintain discipline; report unruly behavior to principal of school or to supervisor. Inspect and sweep bus. Checks water, gas, oil and mechanical condition before leaving on run. Report delays and accidents. Keep operational records and makes simple reports. Report defects or problems to supervisor. Perform related work as required.
