The School of Fine Arts (SOFA) is an extension of the music program at New Life Academy. Students can further develop their creative talents in choral and instrumetal music through SOFA. Lessons offered conveniently during the day or after school

Rosalee Allard - Woodwinds/Voice Instructor

B.A. Music Education (Vocal & Instrumental) –
University of Northwestern, St Paul, MN

Rosalee Allard is the Band Director at New Life Academy. She also teaches private voice, clarinet and saxophone lessons through the Academy of Music at UNWSP. She has also been the Music Director for multiple community theater musicals in Maple Grove, MN. She is passionate for all things music and she loves sharing that passion with her students. It is her hope that her students can learn to appreciate the creativity of our Creator by His gifts to us through music.



Alan Bach - Voice Instructor

Alan Bach is excited to be teaching voice at NLA!  He graduated from North Central University with a degree in Vocal Performance, and has since spent his time performing professionally here in the Twin Cities, as well as in NYC, and aboard Holland America Line cruise ships.  Alan is looking forward to appearing in Chanhassen Dinner Theater’s production of Grease for the majority of this year.  It has been a pleasure helping out with NLA’s drama department working alongside his wife, Janette.  Alan’s collegiate training was in classical music, and has used those foundations for musical theater, pop, and worship music.  He hopes to teach the same to his vocal students.



Deanna Holst- Piano Instructor

Mrs. Holst has been teaching piano for 10 years.  As a student she was a 3 time winner of the Minnesota Music Teachers Piano Contest and completed all levels of theory instruction and examinations.  She graduated from the University of Northwestern St. Paul where she had the opportunity to perform as an accompanist for choirs touring Japan, Romania, Austria and Hungary. Mrs. Holst also served as the keyboardist and worship leader for her church for 7 years. She enjoys teaching and paying various styles of music, and working with children of all ages and learning styles. She especially loves teaching her students the details of music performance.



Ben Leone - Percussion Instructor

Ben Leone grew up in Lake Elmo, graduated from North Central University in Minneapolis with a degree in Drum Performance, and spent the first two years of his post-college life as a music and youth pastor in Sioux Falls, SD with his wife, Gabby. After spending 2 months traveling Europe in spring of 2016, they came back to the Twin Cities with a passion to teach, to pastor, build community, and to raise a family (Etta Sage was born March 2017). 

Ben currently is the music pastor at Liberty Church in Woodbury, MN. He is proficient in drumming, acoustic guitar, vocals, piano, song writing and music theory, but has a soft spot for percussionists (they get to hit things for fun). He is passionate about opening student’s eyes to their God-given potential and talents.



Cindy Martinson - SOFA Director & Piano/Guitar/Voice/Ukulele Instructor

B.S., Music Education/ Piano Performance, Northwestern College

Cindy Martinson is the director of the Fine Arts Music Program at New Life Academy. She is also the Director of Worship and Creative Arts for New Life Church. Mrs. Martinson also maintains a private studio in her home and is hired as a professional accompanist for a variety of other venues.



Tiffany Van Vooren - Piano/Voice Instructor

Tiffany Van Vooren has taught music in public, private and online schools. She also has extensive experience in teaching private piano, voice and flute lessons. Her undergraduate degrees are from Waldorf College (Forest City, IA) and Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) and her Master’s Degree is from Hamline University, St. Paul, MN. She is the proud mom of two beautiful boys which whom she loves to make music. Tiffany enjoys helping students discover and nurture their God-given musical gifts.

Fees

$25 per 30-minute lesson; payable to your instructor, monthly payment due at the time of your first lesson per month. $25 Annual Registration Fee (non-refundable) made payable to New Life Academy.
We offer private lessons to any student seeking training in the following:
